I was born and raised in Beijing, China and became a high school exchange student in the US when I was 15. Since then, I completed high school, college and dental school education in South Carolina. I am a member of the American Dental Association and its local branches; Academy of General Dentistry; and Spear Study Club. Our mission at Juniper Dental is to provide our patients with high quality dental restorations in a friendly and calm environment.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
I think Dentistry is one of the disciplines of medicine that has a direct impact on people's quality of life. When your teeth are good, you can eat well. When your smile is more beautiful, you are more confident.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Medical University of South Carolina James B Edward College of Dental Medicine. I also keep learning and improving by attending continued education courses at the Pankey Institute and Spear Education; and by having mentors and colleagues who help each other.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
I like to spend time with my wife, Camille, who is a computational plasma physicist at Los Alamos National Lab and our two cats Xiaotao and Baozi. We like to go hiking and mountain biking; watch Formula One races; cheer for the Hokies and Clemson football teams; play video games together; and explore restaurants in our area.
